On November 22 (Thursday), Executive Director Wang Xinqi of China’s ZhengZhou ShengDa University Of Economics, Business & Management and his party visited Soka University and toured the campus, including the Zhou Enlai Cherry Tree, and met with President Yoshihisa Baba and others.

The ZhengZhou ShengDa University Of Economics, Business & Management is a private university located in Henan Province, China. It was established in 1993 by Dr. Wang Kwang-ya, who is from Henan Province and a Taiwanese educator. In the two campuses of Longfor and Dengfeng, the university has faculties for economics, management, engineering, literature, art, education, and law, and approximately 24,000 students are enrolled. The founder, Dr. Wang Kwang-ya, is the grandfather of Executive Director Wang Xinqi. In 2009, Dr. Wang Kwang-ya contributed to the conferral of honorary professorship upon founder Dr. Daisaku Ikeda from Taiwan’s Yu Da University of Science and Technology, and in 2010, Soka University conferred an honorary doctorate upon Dr. Wang Kwang-ya.

During the meeting, opinions were exchanged and discussion was had regarding the two universities’ educational philosophy, faculties, graduate school programs, and student exchanges, including overseas studies and language training courses. Executive Director Wang Xinqi shared: “I am very happy to have visited Soka University. It is a wonderful university, as I have heard from my grandfather. I wish to continue exchanges with Soka University.”
