FAO Director Mbuli Charles Boliko of the Liaison Office in Japan gave a lecture

On December 14th, 2018, FAO Director Mbuli Charles Boliko of the Liaison Office in Japan gave a lecture on the theme “FAO and SDGs” for the class “Environment and Development”.

During the lecture, Director Boliko mentioned the previous results and reflections of Millennium Development Goals: MDGs and Sustainable Development Goals: what SDGs is aiming towards 2030 and the missions and roles that FAO plays. He also clarified, “SDGs aims to not only last for our generation but also for the next generation and future generations. The fundamental spirit of "no one left behind" is most important. Our mission is to eliminate hunger all over the world. I would like to make various efforts to make that happen.”
Furthermore, referring to Japan's food loss problem, "Efforts to prevent food waste are practices that you can do, if you reduce the food loss, it will lead to the reduction of greenhouse gases," while showing the statistical data to the class, he concluded by calling upon each student to take action.
