Yoshinori Yasuda Seminar of the Faculty of Business Administration Wins Most Outstanding Award for Two Years Straight at the “5th Tama Students Competition on Town Planning and Production 2018”

On December 15 (Saturday), the “5th Tama Students Competition on Town Planning and Production 2018” (sponsored by: Network Tama) was held at Teikyo University SORATIO SQUARE at which 33 teams from 11 universities participated and at which six organizations that won the preliminary selection gave presentations for the main selection. Soka University’s Team owl of Yoshinori Yasuda Seminar of the Faculty of Business Administration won the Most Outstanding Award. This was the second consecutive year for the Yoshinori Yasuda Seminar to win this award, also marking the third consecutive year of participation for Soka University.

The presentation by Team owl focused on the issue of the various struggles that patients of (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, (ADHD) (a development disability) face when job hunting, and through the research process, the team focused on the importance of the patients themselves understanding their strengths and weaknesses before job hunting, along with knowing about and obtaining methods to cope with their situation. In this research, the team visited associations/organizations for ADHA patients over 40 times and surveyed over 300 people. Based on the results of the survey, the team devised and held game events for ADHD students that can help them with self-analyzation through experiences based on workplace assumptions. The team made a report on this effort from the perspective of town planning.

Ms. Akari Katada (junior, Faculty of Business Administration), the team leader, shared: “I did my best until the very end, placing importance on ‘sincerity,’ which I learned at Soka University. I am very happy that this project, which took into consideration the feelings of many people, was recognized. I would like to continue my activities, never forgetting my sense of appreciation to those who supported us.”
