As a continuation of the FD Seminar, “Dynamic Delivery and Powerful PowerPoints,” held in January this year, a special FD/SD Seminar, “Mastering the Art of Professional Presenting,” took place on June 21 (Friday) at Soka University’s Central Education Tower “Global Square.” Ms. Beryl Hawkins, who has extensive experience in professional voice training, radio talk show narration, and acting, and Mr. Bali Natush, who has published various publications and who is active as a documentary film director, served as lecturers. This was attended by approximately 30 participants, including President Yoshihisa Baba, Deputy Vice President Maria Guajardo, and faculty and graduate school students.

To kick off the seminar, Deputy Vice President Guajardo shared her greetings, and then Ms. Beryl and Mr. Bali took the podium. First, good and bad examples in creating PowerPoint presentations were given, and a discussion took place with all the participants. Then, they formed groups of three to four students to engage in actual practice of creating and presenting PowerPoint documents. The seminar ended with the lecturers giving feedback and advice, so as to help students in the future in preparing their PowerPoint presentations.
