Vice President Song Jingwu of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and his Party Visit Soka University

    On July 3 (Wednesday), Vice President Song Jingwu of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and his party visited Soka University and met with Board of Trustees Chair Yasunori Tashiro, President Yoshihisa Baba, Senior Trustee and Executive Director for Administration Yoshihide Akiya, and Dean of International Affairs Masaru Osanai.

    The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was established on May 3, 1953, and this year marks its 66th anniversary. Currently, it holds friendship exchanges with over 500 organizations in 157 countries, conducting activities to promote economic, cultural, and educational exchange among the people of the nations participating in the exchanges.
    During the meeting, Board of Trustees Chair Tashiro introduced the history of exchanges between Soka University and China, and he expressed his appreciation for their visit to the university and their invitation to Soka University students as part of the student delegation to visit China in recent years.

    Vice President Song shared: “Soka University has continued to advance on the path of humanistic education under the founding spirit upheld by founder Dr. Ikeda. In this first visit, I was moved by the wonderful campus. We would like to make efforts for further cultural, educational, and youth exchanges with Soka University and Japan and to place emphasis on building a foundation of Sino-Japan friendship and fostering successors. With this visit as a starting point, I look forward to the further promotion of friendly exchanges between China and Japan.”
