Soka University Student of the Graduate School of Engineering Wins Young Researcher Award at Symposium

At the Multimedia, Distributed, Cooperative, and Mobile Symposium (DICOMO2019), hosted by the Information Processing Society of Japan and held from July 3 (Wednesday) to 5 (Friday), at Bandai Atami in Fukushima Prefecture, Soka University student Mr. Koichi Fukuoka of the Graduate School of Engineering, Information Systems Science Major, Master’s Program, won the Young Researcher Award.

DICOMO2019 is one of the symposiums at which research presentations take place regarding information research-related fields, and it is jointly hosted by 10 research groups from the Information Processing Society of Japan. This time, there were approximately 400 presentations. This symposium has taken place every year since 1997 when it first started.

Mr. Fukuoka, under the title, “Proposals of Methods to Assume Operations of Ad Hoc Networks Using Data Transmission Volume Analysis,” made a proposal for a monitoring method that assumes wireless network operations realizing autonomous driving by automobiles, while also reporting on simulation appraisal results that realized a high level of assumption accuracy.
Mr. Fukuoka, in receiving the Young Researchers Award, which is given to presenters that are younger than 30, said, “It is an honor to receive this award. With this as encouragement, I will make further efforts in my research.”
