First IBSP Alumni Meet Brings Together Past and Present for a Successful Reunion

On Friday, May 19th, the SOKA-IBSP Alumni Association hosted a highly successful online alumni meet. The event saw participation from distinguished guests, including President Mr. Masashi Suzuki, IBSP Dean Prof. Naoki Kuriyama, Prof. Konomi Saito, Prof. Koji Kobayashi, and Prof. Lim Tai Wei. Joining them were staff members from the Soka University Global Core Center, IBSP graduate and event organizer Mr. Nitin Kant, and the current IBSP student and emcee, Mr. Risky Revilly. The meeting also saw the enthusiastic participation of around 33 alumni.
President Suzuki kicked off the event with an inspiring opening speech, where he shared the university’s future plans and highlighted the expectations from the alumni community. This set a positive tone for the event, fostering a sense of pride and anticipation among attendees.
Throughout the meeting, alumni shared their professional experiences, emphasizing the significant impact of the IBSP and Soka education system on their careers. Many credited their education for propelling them to higher positions in various fields. The professors expressed their joy and pride in seeing their former students achieve such success, both in Japan and internationally. Notably, some alumni are now engaged in policy-making roles within the government, showcasing the wide-reaching influence of the IBSP program.
The event not only celebrated the successes of the alumni but also reinforced the strong bond between the institution and its graduates. It was a heartwarming reminder of the enduring impact of Soka University’s education and the thriving community it continues to foster.
