Finalist at Global Sustainability Supply Chain Student Competition

The Global Sustainability Supply Chain Student Competition is an UN-endorsed international program that brings together undergraduate and graduate students from around the world to develop innovative and practical solutions to real-world sustainability challenges in global supply chains, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The competition is organized by the UN Group of Friends for Sustainable Transport (GFST), FIATA – International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, and International Center for Transport Diplomacy (ICTD).

In 2025, the International Business Studies Program (IBSP) of the Graduate School of Economics at Soka University established a partnership with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland (HES-SO MASTER) to form an institutionally-paired international team for participation in the competition. This collaboration reflects both institutions’ commitment to advancing sustainability education and fostering global academic cooperation.

The 2025 competition attracted 113 teams from 23 countries. The joint IBSP–HES-SO MASTER team was selected as a finalist, receiving a Certificate of Achievement and a commemorative medal from the organizers in January 2026. Ms. Mayra Quinto (IBSP) was honored as the recipient of the finalist certificate and will be formally presented with the memorial medal. Reflecting on her experience, Ms. Mayra Quinto  commented that she hopes this years’ experience will inspire her juniors to take on the challenge in next year’s competition, expressing her delight and learning opportunities in being part of the competition.
