Student Voices: Venessa
This program has allowed me to be a more confident teacher and provided answers to questions I had regarding second language acquisition, teaching methodology, and assessment. The program is learner-centered and is delivered in a manner that allows learners to easily acquire appropriate knowledge and skills for a career in second language teaching. The course covers necessary second language acquisition theory, research, and current ESL pedagogy. Learners are able to improve research and presentation skills, participate in study abroad programs, and gain supervised and independent teaching experience on campus or overseas. I am currently an adjunct lecturer, and I can confidently say that I've applied the knowledge and skills I acquired from the ILE: TESOL Program to achieve successful learning outcomes for all learners I engage with. My future plan is to continue working in a capacity where I can help learners pursue their goals of learning English and studying abroad.
