Soka University Academic Short Program
All program activities and instructions will be conducted in English.🗓 Program Schedule
・Summer(July) Approx. 1 week💰 Program Fee
・Approx. 180,000 JPY per person
Included:
・Program fee, accommodation, airport pick-up.
・Transportation and entrance fees for program activities.
・Most meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner during scheduled activities).Not included:
・Airfare, travel insurance, and VISA application (if applicable).
・Transportation and meals during free activities and excursions.🎓 Eligibility
・High school students (grades 10–12)
・Applications must be submitted by schools (At least one chaperone to accompany your students is required)
・A minimum of 5 students in one institute, excluding chaperone(s)
・Individual applications are not accepted

Program Features
Past Program: Academic Summer Short Program 2025
In the 2025 Summer Program, we welcomed 44 students and teachers from three institutes.
DAY 1: Arrival in Japan
・Arrive in afternoon
・Check in hotel and relax!
DAY2: Fieldwork in Tokyo
"Pop Culture and Innovation: The Forefront of Business in Tokyo"
・Opening Ceremony at Soka University
・Introduction of student buddies and team assignments
・Lectures from faculty members teaching Business and Sociology, preparing students for the two-day fieldwork
・Fieldwork in central Tokyo, visiting Harajuku, Akihabara, and Nakano
・Explored the connection between Japanese anime and manga culture and business
DAY 3: Fieldwork in Yokohama
"Globalization and Urban Development, Multicultural Coexistence"
・Conducted fieldwork in Yokohama, a city at the forefront of globalization in Japan
・Explored Chinatown
・Visited the Red Bricks, historic buildings that played an important role in Japan’s international trade
・Experienced a seabus ride in the port area, gaining firsthand insight into Japan’s role in global exchange
DAY 4: Team Presentations and Cultural Activities
・Team presentations reflecting on the two days of learning
・Feedback from Soka University faculty for each team
・Closing ceremony
・Campus tour at Soka University
・Visit to the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum
・Japanese cultural activities, including a summer festival experience and yukata try-on
DAY 5: Excursion in Tokyo Disney Sea!

DAY 6: Departure
・Check out hotel early in the morning.
・Arrive at airport and enjoy in the airport!
