The annual meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Institution of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) was held at Soka University on June 11 (Sat.) and 12 (Sun.), and Prof. Ichiro Sugimoto, Vice Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Maria Guajardo, and Lecturer Chan Lih Shing participated. ASAIHL was established in Bangkok in 1956 as a non-governmental organization, and is now a traditional international organization with more than 200 universities and other institutions around the world.

   Vice Dean, Prof. Sugimoto also gave a presentation titled "The Establishment of the Center for Malaysian Studies at Soka University: Its Implications and Prospects.
