On October 5th (Thursday), the completion ceremony of the 39th United Nations University Global Seminar was held in the Global Square of Soka University. Certificates of Completion were handed to the students by Professor Junichi Iida, the Director of our university's SDGs Promotion Center.
This seminar, organized by the United Nations University, aims to raise awareness about global issues that contemporary society is facing and the efforts of the United Nations. This year's seminar, held online from August 7th (Monday) to August 9th (Wednesday), focused on the theme of "Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production: Towards Food Security."
Participating students utilized the knowledge they gained from seminars and classes to engage in exchanges with renowned scholars and professionals from both domestic and international backgrounds through English lectures and group discussions. From our university, Yoko Suzuki (3rd year, Faculty of Law), Nobutaka Kijima (3rd year, Faculty of International Liberal Arts), and Prashant Gupta (2nd year, Master's program in International Business Studies Program) participated and fulfilled the completion requirements.
