【FILA】DR. MOHD IKBAL MOHD HUDA ATTENDED THE FRIENDLY GATHERING EVENT ORGANIZED BY THE HONOURABLE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER OF RURAL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO JAPAN, IMPERIAL HOTEL, TOKYO, 18 FEBRUARY 2024
About 200 Malaysians in Japan tonight had the opportunity to meet Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on 18 February 2024. The Malaysian community, consisting of students and individuals residing and working in the country, posed various questions to Deputy Prime Minister during the dinner and Chinese New Year celebration event held at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo. A lecturer from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, the National University of Malaysia and an advisor from the Center for Malaysian Studies at Soka University, Dr. Mohd Ikbal Mohd Huda, had the opportunity to be part of the event.
During the interactive session, Dr. Mohd Ikbal Mohd Huda had the opportunity to pose questions directly to the Deputy Prime Minister regarding the government's vision and strategies for advancing for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programmes in the country. The questions focused on key aspects such as collaborations with industries and measures to enhance the attractiveness of TVET among students. Deputy Prime Minister provided insightful responses, outlining the government's dedication to elevating the status of TVET in the national education framework. Emphasis was placed on forging stronger partnerships with industries to ensure that TVET programmes align with the evolving needs of the job market. The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted upcoming initiatives to allocate increased funds for modernizing TVET infrastructure and enhancing the quality of training.
Accompanying Deputy Prime Minister are Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, senior officers from relevant ministries and agencies, and representatives from higher education institutions.

Kira-kira 200 rakyat Malaysia di Jepun berpeluang bertemu dengan Timbalan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi pada 18 Februari 2024. Pada majlis makan malam dan sambutan Tahun Baharu Cina 2024 di Imperial Hotel, Tokyo, pelbagai pertanyaan diajukan kepada Timbalan Perdana Menteri dalam sesi interaktif bersama komuniti Malaysia yang terdiri daripada pelajar serta individu yang menetap dan bekerja di Jepun. Pensyarah Fakulti Sains Sosial Dan Kemanusiaan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia yang juga penasihat dari Pusat Kajian Malaysia, Soka Universiti iaitu Dr Mohd Ikbal Mohd Huda juga telah diberi peluang untuk menyertai majlis tersebut.
Pada sesi interaktif itu, Dr Mohd Ikbal Mohd Huda berkesempatan mengemukakan soalan terus kepada Timbalan Perdana Menteri berhubung visi dan strategi kerajaan untuk memajukan Program Pendidikan dan Latihan Teknikal dan Vokasional (TVET) di negara ini. Soalan tertumpu kepada aspek utama seperti kerjasama dengan industri dan langkah untuk meningkatkan daya tarikan TVET dalam kalangan pelajar. Timbalan Perdana Menteri memberikan maklum balas yang bernas, menggariskan dedikasi kerajaan untuk meningkatkan status TVET dalam rangka kerja pendidikan negara. Penekanan diberikan untuk menjalin perkongsian yang lebih kukuh dengan industri untuk memastikan program TVET sejajar dengan keperluan pasaran pekerjaan yang semakin berkembang. Timbalan Perdana Menteri juga menekankan inisiatif akan datang untuk memperuntukkan peningkatan dana bagi memodenkan infrastruktur TVET dan meningkatkan kualiti latihan.
Turut mengiringi Timbalan Perdana Menteri dalam lawatan kerja ke Jepun ialah Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, Pengerusi Majlis Amanah Rakyat Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, para pegawai kanan kementerian dan agensi berkaitan serta wakil institusi pengajian tinggi.
