Gratitude to my Parents #14

Gratitude to my Parents #14

Mr. Daichi Ushida
Faculty of International Liberal Arts

What feelings would you like to convey to your parents now?

I am filled with gratitude for the unwavering support my parents have given me throughout my five years of university life. During my time at university, I challenged myself to try many new things, but I am confident that I was able to do so because I had the strong and reassuring foundation of their support.
Whether it was living in the dorms or studying abroad, whenever I began a new chapter in my life, my parents were always there, worrying more about me than I did, and helping me prepare. During my studies and job search, they have continually supported and encouraged me.
I hope to gradually repay the many kindnesses I’ve received throughout my student life, including at university, once I begin my career.

Do you have any impressive memories of your parents in your FILA life?

What I am most grateful for is the unwavering support and encouragement my parents gave me throughout my two study abroad experiences. Both of these study abroad programs were during the COVID-19 pandemic, so I believe I caused them a lot of worry regarding my overseas life. However, they always stayed in touch and continued to support me throughout my time abroad.
Particularly during my second study abroad, when I became ill and had to receive medical treatment, the messages from my parents really gave me strength. Thanks to their encouragement, I was able to recover and return to Japan in good health. Without a doubt, studying abroad is one of the best decisions I made during my university life, and I know I could not have done it without their support.
