【FILA】 10th Anniversary Event
On Sunday, December 22, we held the "FILA 10th Anniversary Event" to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of International Liberal Arts, inviting both current students and alumni!
The Faculty of International Liberal Arts (FILA) was established in 2014 as Soka university's first English Medium Program (EMP), where all courses are conducted in English. Over the past decade, it has nurtured global citizens equipped with profound knowledge and exceptional communication skills. This event served as an opportunity to look back on FILA's 10-year history, reaffirm the strong bonds among students and alumni—known collectively as the "FILA Family"—and envision the future of the faculty.
The celebration began with an icebreaker led by FILA’s English faculty, followed by a welcoming performance from the Soka University Hula Team "Lea Makana" and the Takiya Taiko drumming team. The event also featured addresses by a graduate from the first cohort of FILA and current students, video messages from alumni around the world, and greetings from Mr. Tashiro, Chairperson of the board of trustees, President Suzuki, and Dean Sugimoto. The event was filled with memorable moments to celebrate FILA’s 10th anniversary.
Looking ahead, the Faculty of International Liberal Arts remains committed to fostering true global citizens who have genuine problem-solving skills to address real-world challenges.
