What kinds of issues do modern nations face? While studying the politics, diplomacy, and relationships between neighboring countries, we will deepen our understanding of global affairs.

Sample Course: International Bargaining
We will examine the importance of diplomacy and intergovernmental negotiations in a globalized world.

In this course, we will study diplomacy and intergovernmental negotiations in a globalized society. We will focus on cases where the international community successfully employed effective diplomacy to prevent wars or respond to international crises, as well as cases where nations failed in their diplomatic efforts. The course will examine how international negotiations can be made as effective as possible, how to combine diplomacy with the use of force, and how to ensure that international organizations such as the United Nations function effectively in preventing human rights violations and war.
