【FILA】Halal Food Sales Now Available!

In September 2025, Soka University began offering halal menu options through the “Tokyo Halal Deli & Café” food truck on campus. One of the key factors that led to this initiative was an exhibit presented by Professor Sugimoto’s seminar from the Faculty of International Liberal Arts at the 2024 Soka University Festival.

Their exhibit, titled “Toward a Multicultural Coexistence Campus: Considering from the Perspective of Muslim Students,” proposed solutions to everyday challenges faced by Muslim students. The project was highly praised and received the Faculty and Staff Award in the Soka University Festival Academic Awards.

We spoke with five seminar students about their efforts leading up to the exhibit and their thoughts on promoting multicultural coexistence.
