【FILA】Special Lecture by Mr. Ueda from the Asian Development Bank!
On Wednesday, December 17, as part of the course International Fieldwork I, we welcomed Mr. Ueda, an alumnus of our university who currently works at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to deliver a special lecture. On the day, he spoke about his career path, his activities during his student years, and his encounter with the university’s founder. The students listened attentively with great interest.
During the lecture, many questions were raised by students, such as “What motivated you to study hard during your student days?” and “What is the difference between the United Nations and the Asian Development Bank?” Students were seen nodding and listening intently. Mr. Ueda offered many warm words of encouragement to current students, including the importance of “finding goals at an early stage,” “not running away from one’s dreams,” and “pursuing what you truly want to do without being constrained by your current financial situation or capabilities.” It was a highly meaningful and fulfilling experience for the students.
Students participating in International Fieldwork I are scheduled to take part in a two-week overseas training program in Malaysia starting this coming February. The program will include lectures by distinguished professors, discussions with students from the University of Malaya, company visits, and a variety of other activities.
