Recruitment of Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Assistants (Technical Staff)

Soka University Glycan and Life Systems Integration Center (GaLSIC) is accepting applications for postdoctoral fellows and research assistants (technical staff) as follows:.

【Research details】

Glycans, which are post-translational modifications, are known to modify many proteins and to have a close relationship with the functions of proteins.

Glycans are also attracting attention as a target for drug discovery and diagnostic pharmaceutical development, and the Human Glycome Atlas (HGA) Project has been launched as the first Large-Scale Academic Frontiers Project by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in the field of life science.

It is expected that the elucidation of life functions will be further promoted, and the results will be applied to various research fields, including medical care.

Soka University Glycan and Life Systems Integration Center (GaLSIC) (https://www.soka.ac.jp/en/glycan/) is currently conducting research for the medical applications of glycans in various human diseases. We are looking for those who can work with us to advance this research. The following is a description of the position and the necessary requirements (proprietary technology).

【Work description】

We are conducting research to clarify the relationship between glycans and diseases. You will be involved in research and development for the construction of vectors for genetic recombination of glycan-related molecules (glycosyltransferases and other related proteins), as well as their expression, production, and functional analysis in transgenic cultured cell lines. Depending on the nature of the research, we will conduct genome information analysis, genetic recombination experiments, human cell culture, glycan synthesis, glycan structure analysis, glycan function analysis (including biochemical analysis of proteins, etc.).
