On January 26th, 2023, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Japan, His Excellency Tefera Derbew Yimam, and his party visited Soka University. After a courtesy call to President SUZUKI Masashi of Soka University, H.E. Tefera visited the SATREPS-EARTH project-related laboratories in the Faculty of Science and Engineering building.

　　　During the tour, the project leader, Professor SATO Shinjiro explained the outline of the EARTH project, then international students from Ethiopia and students from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering introduced the characteristics of biochar made from water hyacinth and microalgae cultivation showing the actual products.
　　　H.E. Tefera listened to the students' explanations with interest, asked questions, and showed his high hopes for the outcomes of this project. It was a valuable opportunity for the participating students as well.
