Student from Graduate School of Science and Engineering Receives Presentation Award at 22nd Annual Conference of The Japan Carbonization Research Society

Yuka TAKESHITA, a master's student majoring in Environmental Engineering for Symbiosis at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, received the Presentation Award at the 22nd Annual Conference of the Japan Carbonization Research Society (September 19-21), which was held at Tohoku University Graduate School of Environmental Studies in Miyagi Prefecture.

In her presentation titled "Evaluation of Phosphate Absorption Performance of Metal-modified Biochar Derived from Water Hyacinth," she explained her research on phosphate absorption using metal-modified biochar derived from pyrolyzed water hyacinth. This study was conducted within the framework of the SATREPS-EARTH project.

Ms. Takeshita said, "I am truly honored to receive this award. I am deeply grateful for the support from Professor Sato and the members of my laboratory, which made it possible for me to conduct this research. I will continue to work diligently to achieve a carbon-neutral society."
