Lecture at the Japan Wood Vinegar Association

On June 18, 2025, Professor Sato of the Faculty of Science and Engineering conducted an invited lecture titled “Research on aquatic plant-derived biochar as fuel, soil conditioner, and agricultural application” at the 47th ordinary general meeting Lecture of Japan Wood Vinegar Association.

In the lecture, professor Sato presented his research which evaluated the effectiveness of biochar derived from invasive water hyacinth in Lake Tana, Ethiopia, as fuels, soil amendments, and agricultural fertilizer.

Part of this research was conducted under the SATREPS-EARTH project.
