The Fourth JCC (Joint Coordinating Committee) Online Meeting as for the SATREPS-EARTH Project on July 4th, 2025

The fourth JCC (Joint Coordinating Committee) online meeting as for the SATREPS-EARTH project was held on July 7th, 2025.
Researchers from universities and research institutions in Japan and Ethiopia, together with JICA representatives, met to review the progress of the project and discuss future plans.

The meeting began with opening remarks by Dr. Mengesha Ayene of the president of Bahir Dar University, Mr. Shintaro TAKANO of JICA, and Dr. Mika SUZUKI of the president of Soka University.
Next, Dr. Solomon Addisu of Bahir Dar University gave a general report on the progress and activities of the research in Ethiopia, followed by the same report from the Japanese side by the project leader and each theme leader (Prof. SATO, Dr. AKIZUKI, Prof. BAN, and Dr. TAKAGI).
After Professor SATO’s reports on the project under discussion and the proposed annual work plan for the fifth year, the meeting was concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Gardachew Worku of the president of Injibara University, Mr. Mezgebu Dagnaw from Lake Tana and Other Water Bodies Protection and Development Agency, and Prof. SATO.
