Project Manager visited partner research institutions in Japan

On September 22, Dr. Solomon Addis Legesse, the project manager, visited partner research institutions in Shiga Prefecture with Prof. SATO Shinjiro, the project leader.

They first visited the Lake Biwa Environmental Research Institute (LBERI) and paid a courtesy visit to Dr. FUJII Shigeo, Director General of the institute. They then met with project members, including Dr. ISHIKAWA Kanako, Theme 1 Leader, and exchanged views on future collaboration. Also, they observed the current condition of overgrown water hyacinth in Lake Biwa.

Afterward, they visited the University of Shiga Prefecture and paid a courtesy visit to Dr. MORISHITA Aoi, Vice President of the University of Shiga Prefecture. They also held discussions with Prof. BAN Shuhei, Theme 3 Leader, on the progress of research and future cooperation. 

This visit served as a valuable opportunity to further strengthen collaboration among the research institutions involved in the project.
