IRISE provided editorial support for the publication of Soka University Founder, Daisaku Ikeda’s works

The first volume of "History and Personalities"(tentative translation) by Soka University Founder, Daisaku Ikeda, published on November 15, 2024

On the first anniversary of the passing of Soka University Founder, Daisaku Ikeda, Daisan Bunmei-sha Inc. released the first volume of the book “History and Personalities.”(tentative translation)
Ikeda Research Institute for Soka Education (IRISE) provided planning and editorial support.

This book is a compilation of the Special Cultural Lectures given by Mr. Ikeda at Soka University, Soka Women's College, and Soka Schools, as well as other lectures given from time to time in the 21st century about various personalities. It comprises mainly of those that were not included in “The Complete Works of Daisaku Ikeda.”

The content is very diverse and includes topics/themes such as philosophy, literature, art, science, education and more, and is suitable teaching material for the young generation of liberal arts. In the age of AI, at a time when the significance of liberal arts is being questioned, Mr. Ikeda’s view of history and people is likely to provide encouragement and awareness to many people on and off campus.

The first volume contains lectures on Goethe, Lu Xun, Marie Curie, and Dante. The second volume releazing next spring will include talks on Kant, Socrates, Nightingale, Tolstoy, Beethoven, and others.
