A magazine series titled “A Study of the Origins of Soka Education” was launched by an IRISE researcher

The first part of the serialized article “Learning the Origin of Soka Education” by Mr. Masayuki Shiohara, visiting researcher to IRISE, was published in Todai (May issue), a magazine by Daisanbunmei-sha Inc.
The first installment, titled “The Educational Practices of Tsunesaburo Makiguchi, Founder of Soka (Value-Creating) Pedagogy,
Part 1,” explores the origins of Soka Education through the lens of Makiguchi’s life and experiences. It highlights the distinctive features of Soka pedagogy as articulated by Inazo Nitobe in the foreword to Makiguchi’s The System of Value-Creating Pedagogy, and examines how Makiguchi’s educational practices laid the foundation for the development of Soka Education.
