IRISE researchers supported the special exhibition commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Ishikari-Atsuta merger

Visiting researchers of IRISE, Mr. Masayuki Shiohara and Mr. Yusaku Iwaki, served as supervisors for the special exhibition "Former Atsuta Village Honorary Villagers and the Sea of Abundance," commemorating the 20th anniversary of the merger of Ishikari City and Atsuta Village. Organized by the Executive Committee of the "Atsuta Hometown Peace and Literature Award," the exhibition is being held in Ishikari City, Hokkaido.

It highlights the achievements of Soka University founder Daisaku Ikeda, the first to be awarded the title of “Honorary Villager,” as well as Josei Toda (an Honorary Villager), who grew up in Atsuta Village, and Kan Shimozawa, a well-known writer from the same Village.
