Soka University and the University of the East cosponsored the "Ikeda Symposium" for the first time, in Manila City, Philippines, on February 24.
From Soka University, Deputy Vice President, Prof. Maria Guajardo, and Research Center General Manager, also Dean of Faculty of Economics, Prof. Junichi Kanzaka participated in this symposium and published a paper on Founder Ikeda’s ideas as a professor who took part in Soka Education.

The lecture series (volume of the Student Union) of Founder of Soka University, Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, is now digitalized and published online. Students, teachers, and staffs are now able to see them through their computers and smartphones. Volumes 1~7 will be published online for the academic year 2017.

Kan Shimozawa is a novelist from Atsuta, Hokkaido (now in Ishikari, Hokkaido) known for “The Tale of Zatoichi.” Honoring his achievements, the “Kan Shimozawa Literary Award” and “Aienki Award” was created and the 1st awarding ceremony and a commemorative symposium of these awards were held at the Ishikari City Health Welfare Center.

We provided materials and cooperated with the Daisanbunmei-sha Publications to create the “Biography of Tsunesaburo Makiguchi,” published on June 6^th.

We provided materials and helped with the creation of "Source of Soka education" serialized in the "Daisanbunmei" of the Daisanbunmei publication. (From January, 2013 to October, 2016)

The 2nd All-National University History Exhibition, "Students Pre-War, During War, and Post-War" exhibition was held in the Meiji University museum special exhibition room. Presenting 1 piece of photo materials from Soka University, in the "Student Live Viewed in Photos--Campus Festival Edition" post-war corner, photos from the "Soka University Student Summer Festival" were on display. 

The 1st All-National University History Exhibition, "Japan's Universities --Their Establishment and Societies" exhibition was held in the Meiji University museum special exhibition room. Soka University provided photos for it, and photos from the "Soka University Formal Opening Ceremony" were put exhibited. 

We provided materials for the "Culture of Peace and Children Exhibition" hosted by the Soka Gakkai Women's Peace Committee. 

An exhibition titled "New Ishikari City and Kan Shimozawa --From his meeting with Josei Toda, from the same village" was held at the Hokkaido Ishikari City Citizens' Library with the cooperation of Soka Education Research Institute. 

We cooperated in the video production (DVD) of "Tsunesaburo Makiguchi" (Supervised by Shoji Saito), 3-language (English, Chinese, and Spanish) edition.

We cooperated in the provision of materials and supervision, and it was released on VHS and DVD.

We cooperated in "Path of Peace, Light of Education, Third Generation Soka President Exhibition", which was held in Nagoya City of Aichi Prefecture to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of Soka University, by providing materials.
