History of Ikeda Research Institute for Soka Education (IRISE)

February 15, 1996

Reference room of Soka Education was established.

Committee on data collection was established.
This Committee name was later changed to:
Committee on data collection of Soka Education.

November 18, 1998 Committee on the Establishment of Soka Education Research Center was established.
June 21, 2000 Preparatory Committee on Soka Education Research Center was established.
November 16, 2000 Soka Education Research Center was established commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Soka University.
April 2, 2006 Soka Education Research Institute was established.
The Center for Ikeda Studies was established.
Koichi Kandachi inaugurated as first director of Soka Education Research Institute.
February 20,2007 Academic exchange agreement signed with the Center for Dewey Studies at Southern Illinois University (Carbondale, Illinois, U.S.).
April 2, 2007 The Japan branch of the Center for Dewey Studies was established.
July 1, 2008 “Soka University 50 year history” room was established.
April 1, 2016 Junichi Kanzaka inaugurated as director of the Soka Education Research Institute.
May 28, 2019 Academic exchange agreement signed with the Institute for Daisaku Ikeda Studies in Education at DePaul University (Chicago, Illinois, U.S.).
April 1, 2020 Ikeda Research Institute for Soka Education (IRISE) was established.
April 2, 2021 ”50 Years of Soka University" was published
